The journey starts from Govindghat and passes through the charming village of Ghangaria, which serves as the base camp for both Valley of Flowers and Hemkund Sahib.

Itinerary

Day 1: Rishikesh to Joshimath / Pipalkoti

Your journey for the Valley of Flowers Trek begins with an early morning departure from Rishikesh. The drive follows the scenic Alaknanda River and passes through Devprayag, Rudraprayag, and Karnaprayag, which are important river confluences in Uttarakhand. Depending on road conditions and schedule, the overnight stay is arranged in either Joshimath or Pipalkoti. This day is mainly for travel and acclimatization before gaining higher altitude.

Day 2: Joshimath / Pipalkoti to Govindghat then Trek to Ghangaria

After breakfast, you drive to Govindghat, which is the starting point of the trek. From here, the trail follows the Alaknanda and Lakshman Ganga rivers. The ascent is gradual and passes through forest sections, small waterfalls, and resting points. By evening, you reach Ghangaria, which serves as the base village for Valley of Flowers and Hemkund Sahib. Overnight stay in Ghangaria.

Day 3: Valley of Flowers Excursion (Full Day Exploration)

This is the most important day of the trek. After an early breakfast, you enter the protected area of the Valley of Flowers National Park. The valley opens up into wide alpine meadows filled with seasonal flowers, flowing streams, and views of surrounding Himalayan peaks. You spend the full day exploring the valley and return to Ghangaria by evening.

Day 4: Ghangaria to Govindghat then Drive to Joshimath

After breakfast, you start the descent back to Govindghat. The downhill trail is easier but requires careful walking on rocky sections. From Govindghat, you continue the drive to Joshimath. The evening is free for rest and recovery after completing the main trek section.

Day 5: Joshimath to Rishikesh Return Drive

After breakfast, you begin the return journey to Rishikesh. The drive follows the same scenic route along the Alaknanda River. You reach Rishikesh by evening with unforgettable memories of the Valley of Flowers Trek.
