Overview
The Valley of Flowers Trek is one of the most iconic monsoon treks in India, located in the heart of the Garhwal Himalayas of Uttarakhand. Recognised as a UNESCO World Heritage Site, the valley transforms into a vibrant carpet of rare Himalayan flowers during the monsoon season, making it one of the most visually stunning trekking destinations in the world.
Situated inside the protected region of the Valley of Flowers National Park, this trek is known for its rich biodiversity, glacial rivers, dramatic mountain backdrops, and peaceful alpine meadows. The journey starts from Govindghat and passes through the charming village of Ghangaria, which serves as the base camp for both Valley of Flowers and Hemkund Sahib.
Unlike typical high-altitude Himalayan treks, this trail is more about immersive natural beauty than technical difficulty. It is perfect for trekkers who want a scenic, soul-refreshing experience rather than a challenging summit climb.
